1. About myself
my name is Alana Kay Gaertner. 17 years old. Born in Traverse City Michigan on May 4th, 1997. Three sisters Jaylynne (19), Elizabeth (18), Abby (13), and one little brother Lawrence (12). I'm between Elizabeth and Abby. My parents are Valerie and Richard Gaertner. I currently work at North Peak where I'm a hostess.
2. Plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to move out of Michigan (I don't know where. Just away from the snow). After I move I want to find a job as a hostess at a restaurant. I've decided on a job in the restaurant business because I already have a hostess job and it's something I'm comfortable with. I also want to enroll in culinary school.
3. What one thing do you need to improve on?
I feel I need to improve on staying focused and setting goals for myself. I need to focus on those two things because I get distracted easily and If I'm distracted I don't set goals.
4. weaknesses/strengths
My weakness are staying focused. My strengths are being a leader when I get put into groups. Another strength is my self confidence.
5. Why I'm Good for the Job
I'm good for the job because I work well with other people and like to help them and I'm a leader.
6. Chosen Career
I want to be a police officer because it's a very hands on career and sitting in an office is the last thing I want to be doing.
7. Teamwork
What it means to work as a team is all playing a part in the group and no one sits out.
8. Tackle and Complete a Task
What makes me want to tackle and complete a task is knowing I could probably do it better than other people. My self confidence makes me get it done.
9. Stress
I don't handle stress well. If everything is put on me then it makes me hate it and if I hate it I don' t get anything done.
10. Number One Problem
I think the number one problem people my age are facing is stress. Being a teenager and so close to out of the house adults expects us to know everything about our future. Asking questions about our future like "what's your major?" "where do you plan on living?" "what about a job?" "where are you going to school?" it makes us over think and pile on the stress. A solution to this is for adults to realize that we're still kids.
